Adoptions International has a wonderful Russian program and we have placed many infants, toddlers and older children into loving homes around the world. We work with couples or single women who wish to adopt from Russia. Children from 4 months to 14 years of age are available in approximately 30 different orphanages. It usually takes between 1-2 months from the time your dossier is received until you get a referral, and travel is shortly after accepting the referral. Recent regulations require 2 trips in most regions, but most parents like this idea. In some regions, only one parent is required for the first trip, but both must travel on 2nd trip for the court hearing. Also, there is a Russian law that says that the adoption is not final until 10 days after the court hearing on the 2nd trip. Some regions are routinely waiving the 10-day waiting period, but it is determined, of course, on a case-by-case basis.

Our Russian program offers adoptive parents a truly wonderful experience. We have very professional and efficient staff in Russia that will assist you every step of the way while you are in-country. Stay in country - approx 5 days for 1st trip; 7-10 days for 2nd trip, depending on the region, and whether the 10-day waiting period is waived. A staff member will be with you the entire time you are in Moscow and the region.
